Outdoor Research was founded in 1981 in Seattle, Washington by a scientist and adventurer named Ron Gregg. In the years since they have grown from a small, niche outdoor company to a force in innovative and creative outdoor gear. We were big fans of the OR brand long before we got the call to explore the possibility of working with them.
In 2015, ZaneRay was selected to redesign the Outdoor Research website. We began with an extensive study of their customer and brand, resulting in the redesign that took place in 2016. Launching in May of 2017, the new site was packed full of innovative and interactive shopping tools, designed to engage users on the highest level—all designed to showcase the OR commitment to product excellence and design. The brand has since implemented a new effort on a different e-commerce platform but continues to produce some of the best outdoor apparel in the industry.
