We are excited to share that ZaneRay has been awarded the BigCommerce Headless award for the third year in a row for our work on the Oboz Footwear site. There were a lot of factors and considerations that made this project unique and we couldn’t ask for a better partner to work with than Oboz.
We first started our discussions with the Oboz team shortly before the pandemic, and at that time the discussions were more focused on whether or not to go headless as well the considering the fact that this was the first time that Oboz was going to be selling direct to consumer. Once the pandemic hit, those discussions were still extremely relevant, but the larger focus was on the fact that they had very few levers to pull without a direct-to-consumer site at a time when retail stores were shutting down and supply chain issues were ramping up. They quickly made the decision to move forward with design and development project and it was determined that the site should be built using a headless framework to better support the desired brand experience on the site as well as the unique shopping tools that Oboz wanted to implement for their customers. When the site launched, Oboz was still dealing with inventory challenges, however, once those challenges subsided, they were then facing a new challenge, meeting the overwhelming demand from sales on their site. Oboz not only had a site that offered a more engaging and inspiring brand experience but they also had a site that was highly optimized to sell. The sales on the site far exceeded their projections and month over month they continue to grow exponentially.
